Project description

Reliable and comrehensive hydrologic data is the basis of efficient flood forecasting in any country of the Danube Basin. Furthermore one of the most important factors of flood risk mitigation is the available time for necessary measures. Increasing the operative preparation period contributes to decreasing or even avoiding disasters. The project therefore aims to establsih a standardised international hydro-meteorological data exchange platform which can improve the quality and efficiency of national forecast services. DAREFFORT project is a horizontal initiative to implement a mutually adopted flood risk mitigtion measure in a joint and sustainable way on Danube catchment level.

In the DAREFFORT project partners and strategic participants from 12 countries out of 14 of the Danube Basin nations work together. The project is funded by the European Union between 01/06/2018 and 31/05/2021.
